Hey, Why Don’t You Join Us On Our Newfoundland Pilgrimage?

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Learn what RSS is here. Remember, bitter is better.

You don’t have to walk the Camino in Spain. Listen to this:

“The Camino is right here,” says Sue Kenney. “Everyone is already on a walk; each person is on his or her own journey. It is a metaphor for going forward in life. One is always walking, always living, always on a journey.”

Deep.

You know who else will be “right here?” Anita Shuper, who is in Sue’s documentary Las Peregrinas, and Mai Nakazawa, a 22 year old woman visiting from Japan.

Anita’s from Toronto and on a mission to discover Canada. She walked the Camino with Sue in 2005, and to the Sudbury film festival just a few months ago. This is her first time east of Quebec, and I think this self-professed “walking nerd” will be right impressed. (Sherri, did I say that right?)

I can’t wait to meet them.

These gals are walking the whole 103 km from Renews to St. John’s, some of it along the beautiful East Coast Trail. Me? Not so much. (Monday only, due to extreme fear of missing the opening night party with RON HYNES.)

You can walk a little, or walk a lot. Or just wave from your car as you drive by.

So come on by and say hello. Bring support. And snacks!

You, my good woman of the arts, are totally nuts.

Not me. I walked one hour today on the East Coast Trail. Sue and the others are walking 4 days…

But you know, that is one fine path and one beautiful countryside, so I wish I was walking with them.

Of course, I also wished I was walking with proper shoes and gear, but I still hadn’t been reunited with my luggage.

Oh well, that’s the way it goes. Onward!
