It’s late. You’re cheap. But fret not, you can still send a Christmas card by email. Here is Bitter Tonic’s top picks for the season.
Update: don’t miss our top funniest Christmas ecards for 2007
Elf Yourself
It’s the magic of Elfamorphosis. Upload a picture of yourself to their server and your head appears on a dancing elf’s body. Call in to a special number and record your special message via telephone. Very cool, except for the incessant bells that ring in the background while you trim your face to fit the elf’s body.
Bonus: There are lots more cards and games if you click on OfficeMax in the lower right of the screen.
MonkEmail

Choose your monkey, dress it up, then add some audio. You can choose from uploading prerecorded audio, or have text that you write converted to audio by a robot voice, or call in your message like above. Nothing says holiday season quite like a monkey. There’s a snowman in the background so that makes this card legit.

Bonus: Oddcast, the company that made MonkEmail also made Christmas Cards for Starbucks and Better Homes and Garden Magazine customers to email out from their sites.
- Check out the Starbucks It’s Red Again campaign.
- Or the Better Homes and Gardens, My Christmas Wish.
The latter one isn’t as sucky as it sounds, and Better Homes and Gardens will make a 50 cent contribution to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation with each card that is sent out, which is a double bonus in our books.
Three from Egreetings**
Normally you have to pay for cards from Egreetings, but they are in a giving mood this season and are offering a free trial promotion where you can send as many Ecards as you’d like. And that is very cool. Here are Bitter Tonic’s picks for the funniest.
The Top 5 pick up lines in the North Pole - as performed by an amorous elf.

Carol of the Chins - is about chins, and sung by chins.

Jtel Christmas Timeless Classics - a parody of the Ktel commercials of yore selling compilation CDs .
